  1. ~ My Olympic Moment ~
The New Zealand National Anthem started , I felt very nervous standing in my new shiny white and black tracksuit. Two hours later our competing started. I was standing on the corner of the rhythmic mat about to compete in my first routine. I could hear the crowd cheering for me while I waited nervously.

The man called “Welcoming to the mat all the way from New Zealand, Charlotte Ward”!
I took a deep breath and walked all the way to my starting position. My music beeped and started playing. I started my hoop routine with a big smile dancing along to my fast and beaty music. My hoop flew up into the air and I caught my big throw precisely on cue. The crowd cheered and clapped with surprised and joyful faces.

I smiled and walked off with a big grin on my face. As I sat down for a rest my results came up…
I got a high score! I was so relieved I couldn’t believe myself. After the last rotation it was prize giving time. I walked out in our group “New Zealand” after a few countries like Russia, Brazil and a whole lot of other amazing places like that. Then it went silent.. the man announced “3rd place representing Russia is... Anna Besanova” the crowed cheered for her. Then “2nd place from Japan Agave Yu” the crowed also cheered and waved their Japanese flags. “Then” the man said “1st place 1st hoop first free first clubs all the way from…” there was dead silent….. “all the way from New Zealand Charlotte Ward!!” The crowd ROARED and waved kiwi flags everywhere and threw me flowers!

As I stepped onto the podium I felt like I was on cloud nine as the lady placed the shiny sizable golden medal around my neck. I was so proud of myself :).
